Football Club Safety and Security

I decided to write a Blog regarding safety and security  in and around some local football clubs.

All  football clubs obviously deem  the safety and security issues to be  of paramount importance. From time to time inevitably problems  will  occur and my aim is to investigate the overall running  of the clubs security and issues that may arise in and around the surrounding areas of the football clubs.

A scene from Lady bay bridge taken with my mobile phone camera
Here  is one instance in which i was at a football match  not so long ago..  The issue was looked into by the Football club and i was happy with  their  response to my enquiry and  that they looked into the matter further regarding the crowd issue.  The car incident was not the clubs responsibility as i had not parked  in one of the fee paying car parks designated for football supporters car security. Therefore i had to deal with that issue separately and reported as car crime to Nottinghamshire police.

Here is how the story unfolded.

Hello Nigel
Myself and a friend attended the FA cup game Vs Leicester city on saturday 7th January 2012.
On  trying to return home from the match around 5pm we along with a large crowd of Forest fans were held up at the lady Bay Bridge by the Police.

Suddenly a large crowd of leicester City fans were let across the bridge whilst  We were all held back. Surely the leicester City fans should have been held back at the City ground longer?
The crowd of Leicester fans started goading us all spitting down at us and sweaing and then threw a couple of bottles{one just missing a friend of mine , and something  hit the end of my foot though nothing serious happened with that fortunately. they also began throwing coins down from the bridge.
I took a quick photo with my mobile but with it being dark is not a very good picture.
I heard a lot of other Forest fans shall be complaining about what happened , and in view the police took some time before intervening to stop things getting out of hand further
.
To add insult to injury on return to my Car both my number plates had been stolen and apparently a few other cars in the area had been broken into.
Obviously what should have been  a good day watching football was marred by all of what happened afterwards.

I hope to hear from you soon, and respect that it is not your responsibility regarding the car issue , but hope you can pass this information onto the people at Nottingham Forest football Club that do deal with such matters.
Thanking you.
Kind regards
Roy Mullin

Top of Lady bay bridge steps . Police stood here to prevent Forest and Leicester VCity fans clashing. Some Forest fans were already on the steps, and some were already at the top of the steps . The crowd tension was quite intimidating , as you can imagine.
